Refunds

Before processing a refund ensure you have checked the rules and conditions of the airfare you are refunding.

There are different ways you are able to process a refund

  • Through your GDS where no service fee will apply.
  • Via BSP Link.
  • Completing the Air New Zealand online refund form.

All manual refund applications processed via BSP Link and/or online refund form, will incur a service fee of NZD50.00 (plus GST), that could otherwise be refunded through your GDS.

There is no guarantee that a full refund will be given as not all circumstances can be covered.  If applying for a refund on a non-refundable airfare, appropriate documentation i.e. Medical Certificate and a full explanation must accompany the refund form.

For more serious medical situation where travel insurance had been purchased, refer to the insurer to determine refund eligibility under the terms and conditions of the insurance policy, for the non-refundable airfare purchased. Otherwise contact Agency Sales Support for further information.

Points to Note

  • A charge will be applied for duplicate refunds, i.e. submitting two applications for the same refund.
  • GST on non refundable fares is non refundable.
  • Refunds with an authority number can be processed through your GDS.
  • Depending on the refund request, proof of immigration status or citizenship maybe required.

To find out when the service fee of NZD50.00 (plus GST) does not apply, refer to service fee exemptions.

Refund ticket validity

Refund requests are only accepted on valid tickets, or within 30 days of the ticket validity expiring. Refunds on unused portions of tickets will be determined according to the relevant paragraph in the Conditions of Carriage - 10.5 Right To Refuse Refunds.
