If the whole journey is cancelled prior to departure either:
- Auto refund the whole ticket but ensure the refund amount is changed to reflect the refundable portion, i.e. NZD200.00 plus Tax AUD50.00.
- Wait until the AKL/SYD non refundable coupon has suspended. This will leave only the refundable SYD/AKL Y2 coupon open for refund so it can be auto refunded without adjusting the fare. Refundable taxes can also be refunded.
If the AKL/SYD coupon (non refundable GSMART) is still required for travel but the SYD/AKL coupon (refundable Y2) is cancelled prior to departure, either:
- Wait until the AKL/SYD coupon has been availed. This will leave only the refundable SYD/AKL coupon open for refund so it can be auto refunded without adjusting the fare. Refundable taxes can also be refunded.
- Reissue the ticket AKL NZ SYD NZD100.00GSMART plus a residual MPD for the SYD/AKL refundable coupon and taxes. Short refund the MPD or manually refund it if the original form of payment is credit card and it will be exempt of the fee.
If the SYD/AKL is cancelled after the AKL/SYD coupon is flown or suspended, it can be auto refunded without adjusting the fare. Refundable taxes can also be refunded.
If AKL/SYD coupon is still required and the SYD/AKL is changed and downgraded to a BFLEXI NZD150.00, either:
- If pre departure the whole ticket needs to be reissued to show AKL NZ SYD NZD100.00GSMART NZ AKL NZD150.00BFLEXI TAX AUD50.00 plus a residual MPD for the NZD50.00. Short refund the MPD or manually refund it if the original form of payment is credit card and it will be exempt of the fee.
- If post departure and only the SYD/AKL coupon remains then reissue the SYD/AKL coupon to show the new fare plus a residual MPD for the NZD50.00. Refund the MPD as above.
- As an alternative the refundable MPD may also be used as part payment to future travel.
Example 2
AKL NZ NAN NZD100.00Y NZ RAR NZD50.00Y NZ AKL NZD150.00Y
If the AKL/NAN has been flown and alternative arrangements have been made NAN/RAR, the NAN/RAR coupon cannot be auto refunded until the RAR/AKL coupon has been flown, either:
- Reissue the ticket AKL NZ NAN Y NZD100.00 /- RAR NZ AKL Y NZD150.00 and put the residual amount on an MPD for refund. Short refund the MPD or manually refund it if the original form of payment is credit card and it will be exempt of the fee.
- Wait until the RAR/AKL has been flown and then auto refund.
Example 3
AKL NZ SYD NZD100.00GSMART NZ AKL NZD100.00GSMART TAX AUD50.00
If a tax refund is required and the coupons are still open as prior to original departure date, either:
- Auto refund and change the amount to the refundable tax only, i.e. AUD50.00.
- Reissue the tax onto a residual MPD. Short refund the MPD or manually refund it if the original form of payment is credit card and it will be exempt of the fee.
If a tax refund is required and the coupons have suspended (96 hours after original travel dates):
- Manual refund required. The service fee is exempt.
