We offer our most frequent flyers a few extras to help take the frustration out of check-in and baggage collection:
Baggage allowance - Gold, Gold Elite & Koru Club
Baggage allowance - domestic
Our normal baggage allowance domestically is one bag for grabaseat™ + bag fares and Smart Saver fares and two bags for Flexi Plus fares (free, up to 23kgs). Gold Elite, Gold, Star Gold and Koru Club members can take another bag up to 23kgs at no extra charge when purchasing a grabaseat + bag, Smart Saver or Flexi Plus fare. Please note: additional allowance does not apply to the grabaseat 'seat only' product on domestic flights.
Baggage allowance - shorthaul and international
Our normal baggage allowance internationally is one bag Economy, two bags Premium Economy and three bags Business. Gold Elite, Gold, Star Gold and Koru Club members can take an extra bag up to 23kg at no extra charge, up to a maximum of three bags. Note - additional allowance does not apply to the 'Seat' product on trans-Tasman and Pacific flights. Koru Club members additional allowance applies to Air New Zealand operated services only.
Cabin Baggage allowance - domestic and international
Gold Elite and Gold members can take two pieces of cabin baggage and it doesn't matter what class they are flying in, so long as it is on an Air New Zealand flight. They just need to make sure that each bag or item is under 115cm in size (length+height+width) and weighs less than 7kg. However, for flights to, from and through the USA and/or UK, you're only allowed to take one piece of cabin baggage. Again, that bag or item needs to be under 115cm and less than 7kg.
Priority check-in - Gold and Gold Elite
Gold and Gold Elite members can check-in at the Business Class counter when travelling on an Air New Zealand ticketed or operated flight, regardless of the class of travel. When travelling on a flight operated by a Star Alliance airline you are entitled to check-in at the Star Alliance Gold designated counter.
Priority baggage claim - Gold and Gold Elite
Where possible you will be amongst the first to collect your baggage off each Air New Zealand-operated flight and most Star Alliance airline operated flights.
