Duplicate Bookings

Definition

  • Origin/destination of the flight segments are the same
  • Date of travel for International flights is for same day, up to 2 days before or up to 2 days after
  • Date of travel for Domestic flights are the same day

Waitlisting is restricted to:

  • One flight - when an alternative flight is holding confirmed
  • Two flights - when no alternative flights are confirmed

Duplicate space messaging

When a duplicate booking exists, a message will be sent as PNR Vendor Remarks to resolve the duplicate booking by a given date.

Cancelling Duplicate space

The duplicate vendor remarks message includes a deadline for resolving the duplicate booking. After the deadline date, if nil resolution the bookings will be cancelled, and a further vendor remark will be sent advising:

XXLD DUE DUPE UNRESOLVED

Examples of which flights may be cancelled

  • Where multiple flights are held, generally the newest flight will be considered the one the passenger required and oldest flights will be cancelled, regardless of ticketing.
  • If a waitlist has recently been cleared, if nil action to the vendor remarks the KL will be cancelled.
  • If the PNR has flights in more than one cabin, i.e. economy and premium economy, if ticketed in economy class, the premium economy will be cancelled.
  • Where there is two PNR's, the PNR with nil ticketing information will be cancelled.

PNR's where duplicate space was held can only be reinstated by booking from availability.
