To ensure consistency with the Compassionate Travel guidelines, one of the following documentation will be required to enable your customer to be booked in the appropriate compassionate fare level.
Bereavement Documentation
- Funeral Directors letter.
- Letter from attending doctor.
- Death Certificate (not usually issued/available until after the funeral).
- Death Notice from the newspaper
Note: All of the above documentation must clearly show the immediate family relationship with the passenger.
Serious Medical Emergency Documentation
- Letter from attending doctor.
Note: This must be for medical or unexpected serious medical emergencies; it does not cover visits to persons with on-going medical problems or passengers having to travel to scheduled appointments.
Note: For audit purposes all documentation will be required to be held on file.
If you are unable to obtain the appropriate documentation prior to commencing and/or completion of travel, you will be able to apply for a retrospective refund (up to one month after completion of travel) on the original fares purchased once the documentation is received.
